We are bound to know and to believe that:<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>There is one supreme, eternal, infinite God, the Creator of heaven and<br \/>\nearth, and that the good will be rewarded<br \/>\nby him forever in heaven, and the wicked,<br \/>\nwho die unrepentant will be punished for<br \/>\never in hell.<br \/>\nIn the Holy Trinity, there are<br \/>\nthree Persons: God the Father, God the<br \/>\nSon, and God the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>God the Son, the Second Person<br \/>\nof the Holy Trinity, became man, and died<br \/>\nupon the Cross to save us.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">2. We are also bound to know and believe:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>the Apostles&#8217; Creed, and to have a<br \/>\nknowledge of the Commandments of God<br \/>\nand the Precepts of the Church, and of the<\/p>\n<p>Holy Sacraments. We must believe that<br \/>\nSacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture<br \/>\nform one sacred deposit of the word of<br \/>\nGod, which is committed to the Church.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">3. We are bound, moreover, to believe:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whatever God teaches us by his holy<br \/>\nChurch, who in her teaching cannot<br \/>\ndeceive us, nor be deceived. Her teaching<br \/>\nis among other ways infallibly made known<br \/>\nto us by the Pope when he speaks ex<br \/>\ncathedra-that is, when discharging the<br \/>\noffice of pastor and teacher of all<br \/>\nChristians, he defines, by virtue of his<br \/>\nSupreme Apostolic Authority, a doctrine<br \/>\nregarding faith or morals, to be held by<br \/>\nthe universal Church.
